Qunisha Manus waives her right to prelim.

Manus accused of abusing non-verbal client while working for Voices for Ind.

The caretaker accused of assaulting a patient is facing trial.  26 year old Qunisha Manus waives her right to a preliminary hearing today.

Manus is charged with Aggravated Assault, Strangulation, Intimidating, and many other counts after Police say a woman with Cerebral Palsy was taken to Saint Vincent Hospital with bruises to her head, neck, arms, and legs.  Manus was a caregiver for the victim, employed by Voices for Independence.  

The victim is non-verbal and confined to a wheelchair.  She communicated to police that she was struck several times by Manus and that Manus also unplugged her electronic hospital bed, wrapping the cord around her neck.
