Renovations push back Playhouse opening night

Massive renovations at the Erie Playhouse have pushed back the start date of its 101st season once again.  The Playhouse will now open its season on October 26th, three weeks after the original start date.

The demolition phase is now complete and crews have moved on to constructing the new stage, green room, and orchestra pit.  The new Executive Director, Kate Neubert-Lechner, says things are running smoothly now that the hard part is over.  "As everyone knows when they have done some renovations to your house, you always run into some surprises here or there so, we ran into some surprises and also some delays in specialty goods that were coming from Texas and Florida, so we pushed back our date to October 26."

The 101st season kicks off with the production of Mama Mia.
