Man dead after officer-involved shooting near Warren

Warren, Pa. -- One man is dead after an officer-involved shooting. 

Pennsylvania State Police confirm that a City of Warren Police Department officer fatally shot a 54-year-old man Friday night. 

The shooting happened during a traffic stop near Warren.

The motorist pulled into the parking lot of Dairy Delite, located at the intersection of Route 6 and Route 59, in Mead Township. According to state police, the man got out of the vehicle with a firearm and police shot him.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

No other injuries were reported.

Witnesses reported that the area was blocked off to all traffic as police investigated.

State police are investigating with the assistance of the Warren County District Attorney's Office, Warren County Sheriff's Office and City of Warren Police Department.
