A release from the Pennsylvania State Police says that although the fire that destroyed the historic Riverside Inn in Cambridge Springs is officially listed as "undetermined" it appears to be accidental and started in the main kitchen area of the complex.
That decision was made after two days of investigation that included the PSP Fire Marshal Unit, Cambridge Springs police and Cambridge Springs fire volunteers. The PSP Aviation Unit was also dispatched to provide overhead photography of the damage and the accident reconstruction team also took various measurements of the scene.
Investigators say the probe will continue and other interviews will be conducted.
