Ruck the Bay: are you up to the challenge?

Honoring Fallen Heroes and Ending Veteran Homelessness

ERIE, Pa. - Ruck the Bay is a 15K (or optional 5K) military-style ruck march/walk at Presque Isle State Park on Sunday, Oct. 15th.

Ruck participants complete the course carrying a loaded rucksack and will observe memorials at every kilometer honoring local fallen heroes. Participants are encouraged to fill their rucksack/backpack with personal care donations for homeless Veterans (such as laundry detergent, trash bags, paper towels, cleaning supplies, twin sheet sets, blankets, pillows, towels and washcloths). Drop-off boxes will be located at the finish line. Donations and event proceeds
will benefit EUMA’s Liberty House transitional shelter for homeless Veteran men.

Established in 2001, Liberty House is the only transitional housing program in Erie County specifically for homeless veterans. the house is a safe haven for the men who protected our freedom and are now in need of a new beginning.

Ruck the Bay starts at 2 p.m. at Presque Isle State Park, Beach 11; with registration beginning at 1 p.m.
