ERIE, Pa. -- A man who was set to be sentenced Monday for murder may be getting a new trial.
Attorney Bruce Sandmeyer tells JET 24 Action News he filed a motion for a new trial of 22-year-old Darion Eady. Eady was found guilty of third-degree murder in the 2015 shooting of 16-year-old Elijah Jackson.
Sandmeyer said he filed the motion because a family friend of Eady overheard a juror outside the courtroom after the trial make comments about knowing Jackson.
Sandmeyer said Judge William Cunningham will review the motion next week.
Eady's sentencing has been postponed until May.
