An autopsy took place in Erie today for a Sharon teenager who police believe was shot to death by his best friend. 15 year old Tony Keppel was found outside a Meek Street home after neighbors heard a shot.
A family member said Keppel was with 16 year old Christopher Dickson shortly before the shooting. Dickson was found a few hours later. Police say he admitted to the shooting and took police to the gun. Bond was set at $1 million at a hearing with a heavy police presence after threats were made on social media.
Sharon Police Chief, Gerry Smith, says, "anytime you have a juvenile involved or large groups of juveniles involved and you get any kind of chatter whatsoever, or negative comments on Facebook or so forth; we take that extra step to make sure nothing does happen."
Police believe the two teens were in an argument before the shooting, but aren't saying much else about why Keppel was shot or where Dickson got the weapon.
