St. Patrick's Haven opens new shelter

Saint Patrick's Haven opens a new location.

Community members gathering today at 239 East 12th Street for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.  The organization provides temporary shelter to men.  The new location is 3400 square feet.  Coordinators say the facility can house 24 men per night. Sister Mary Fromknecht, Director, tells us, "we did not recieve any government money to build this building. It was all donations from people that we knew, people who knew us, people that cared about the homeless and people who just wanted to say, 'let's do everything we can to make Erie a better spot'".

The new facility is open for use starting this Friday.
