St. Paul's Italian Festival Wraps Up

St. Paul's Italian festival kicked off it's final day with a special mass and the traditional street procession.

Bishop Persico of the Erie Diocese celebrated the morning mass and then led the procession of the blessed Virgin Mary through Little Italy.  The procession commemorates the feast of the assumption, the day the Virgin Mary was taken into heaven.

The festivities then resumed at the church with live entertainment and a spaghetti dinner.

"It means a lot to Saint Paul's. You know, it's all the comradery and the friendship and good Italian food and all our friends and everybody to just come back to Little Italy and enjoy the community," said Kathy Iarussi, member of St. Paul's Parish.

The festival concluded tonight at 8 p.m. after a day of live music and traditional Italian food.
