Barbara’s leadership, creative approach and total commitment to growth and innovation in the Erie region has been her hallmark,” said Marsha Marsh, Chair of the ERCGP board. “She has made a tremendous difference to the City of Erie and the entire region.”
“It was Barbara’s and Ben’s vision that championed Destination Erie/Emerge 2040 which has set a transformational foundation upon which the region will continue to build,” said Ms. Marsh. “Their work also contributed to Erie Refocused – a comprehensive plan – as a major advancement for the City of Erie.”
Ms. Chaffee stated, “In preparation for the annual meeting next month, we reviewed the many goals ERCGP has achieved. The timing is right for the next community leader to dedicate their talents to the promise of the Erie region.
“From April, 2011 through October, 2017 our Growth Partnership division has been instrumental in Destination Erie/Emerge 2040, a Housing and Urban Development sustainable community initiative and 25-year regional plan focused on the renaissance of Erie County. We have worked closely with the City of Erie and the CZB consulting team through the steering and technical committees resulting in Erie Refocused, The City of Erie’s comprehensive plan and the roadmap for the city’s future. We were driven by building the dynamic nature of our great region to greater heights.
“We also developed the Erie Relocation Guide, launched Erie Edge and other digital products. We have created new opportunities for our smaller business members, and continue to collaborate with all economic development entities.
“As an Erie native, it has been a tremendous honor for me to give back to the community through my work at the Chamber and Growth Partnership. I have been equally honored to work with the dedicated and talented staff who displayed their commitment each and every day. It has been a pleasure serving our 800 plus and growing membership and our board of directors.
“As my next chapter unfolds, I will be an enthusiastic supporter of what I know will be continued growth for the Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership.”
“Ben’s contributions to the many ERCGP advancements and investments over nearly seven years are significant and have created a path for economic and social growth and a reliable roadmap for the future of the Erie region,” said Ms. Chaffee.
Mr. Pratt will conclude his work at ERCGP on Nov. 3, 2017.
In her role as CFO and Director of Operations, Linda Robbins will lead the day-to-day operations of ERCGP. ERCGP will elect board members and officers at its annual meeting on Nov. 8 who will determine the process for selecting the next president and CEO.
