MILLCREEK TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Students at Belle Valley Elementary School in Millcreek get their own classical music experience.
Ken Johnston, Erie Philharmonic concertmaster, performed for more than 200 students and staff. The fourth- and fifth-graders interacted with Johnston and some even conducted for him.
“I think the children need to hear and see classical music,” said Melany Myers, music instructor at Belle Valley. “Having the opportunity, such a fabulous Erie Philharmonic orchestra, in our midst is a great, great venue for our kids.”
The orchestra gave away 300 buy-one-get-one-free vouchers for students to see regular performances at the Warner Theatre.
