A teenager accused of murder will face a jury.
The judge bound over all of Keyon Lucas's, 15, charges to trial in his preliminary hearing Friday.
Lucas, now 15, is charged in the murder of Lavelle Beason, 24.
Beason died from a gun shot wound to the chest at UPMC Hamot.
In the hearing, Beason's mother, Kathleen Myers, took the stand.
She said she was at East 22nd and Ash Streets around 1:45 p.m. January 23rd to look at an apartment.
When she arrived in a blue mini van with Beason, as well as other members of her family, in the car she says a group of what she described as boys was on a porch across the street.
Myers says she went upstairs to look at the second-story unit when she heard three gun shots.
She went to look outside and said "it was a ghost town."
She said the group of boys were gone, as well as the van filled with her family.
That's when she called one of the people in the van and they told her Beason was "shot, bleeding out and they were half way to Hamot."
A Erie Police Department detective also taking the stand in the hearing.
He says he interviewed Myers' sister who was in the van when Beason was shot.
She said Beason got out of the mini van and went and "dapped" or shook hands with the boys on the porch.
The detective says one of the boys who were on the porch told police Beason shook hands with everyone but Keyon Lucas.
The detective says, according to interviews, Beason got back into the van.
That's when Lucas left the porch and shot at the van, hitting it twice in the windshield.
Lucas however was not arrested until February 22nd in Detroit where he was found with a suspect in a different homicide case.
The prosecution says they are seeking murder in the first degree.
Lucas is also facing charges included aggravated assault, firearm charges, as well as fleeing police.
