The Importance of Catholic Schools Week to the Diocese of Erie

Schools Showcase Assets

ERIE, Pa - January 31, 2017 - Catholic Schools Week is a national celebration and the Erie Catholic School System in the Diocese of Erie is using this week to showcase what an asset they are to the community.

You could say 2016 was a year of reorganization for the Erie Catholic Diocese and the Erie schools within it. Many changes were announced, many parents reacted. Final plans reveal parishes combining and schools closing their doors.

We spoke with the new Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Erie, Jim Gallagher and Principal of Blessed Sacrament Jane Wagner on what the schools have planned for this week and how the new school system will be implemented in the 2017-2018 school year.
