A car jumped the curb and hit a utility pole on Erie's east side.
Erie police and fire responded to the scene at East 9th and Parade streets around 3:45 p.m. Sunday.
A fire official said a woman was heading northbound in a Ford Focus when she swerved toward the sidewalk and struck the pole.
The Erie Fire Department blocked off the sidewalk, while they waited for Penelec crews.
No injuries were reported in that accident.
However, in an unrelated accident, the driver of another was injured after car slamming into a utility pole on the city's west side just hours later.
Crews were called to W 11th Street between Peach and Sassafras streets around 6 p.m. Police said the car was heading east on W 11th Street when the driver lost control and rammed the pole. The impact broke the pole with the top half leaning against electrical wires.
Police closed West 11th Street until the pole was replaced.
