Two murder suspects appear for preliminary hearing

Two people accused of killing a Franklin woman were in court today.  28-year-old Richard Kennedy and 32-year-old Amanda Cypher were charged in the homicide of Tausha Baker on October 27th.

The two appeared for their preliminary hearing today, facing a list of charges, including abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.  They allegedly beat Baker to death and dumped her body in a field near Waterworks Road and set the body on fire.

It's not clear at this time what connection existed between the victim and the suspects.  The two are being held in the Venango County Prison without bond.
