"Type one to type none"

Over 160 children with Type 1 Diabetes from all over the United States went to Washington, DC as part of the JDRF Children's Congress.

They went to meet with their local representatives and senators and talk to them about why diabetes research and treatment needs more funding.  The special diabetes program is up for renewal in September.  That program would ensure that there will be continued research; not only for a cure, but also to help patients manage their disease.

Lorynn Watt, Type 1 Diabetic, says, "Watching what’s really the worst case scenario… for the ending of a diabetics life…is really heart breaking."

Senator Bob Casey said "I'm convinced that together we can turn type one into type none."

The delegates hope congress will renew the request to provide $150 million in research funding each year.
