Victim of West 26th crash identified

Erie, PA - UPDATE: Erie Police have identified Taneaka Jackson of Erie as the victim of a fatal accident that happened this morning.

A car slammed into the back of a truck transporting utility poles, ripping the roof off of the car and sending it into the front of a local business.  The accident happened around nine this morning when a woman driving a black sedan drove her car into the back of a truck hauling two utility poles.  Those utility poles entended about eight or nine feet past the trailer they were on.

The accident began at Harvard Boulevard on West 26th Street, and the car wound up several blocks away, on Oakwood Street.  The woman was transported to UPMC Hamot where hospital personnel says she died of her injuries.  

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
