ERIE, Pa. -- The former Vernondale Elementary School is now undergoing major renovations as Voices for Independence prepares to make the building its new, permanent home.
The multimillion-dollar project is expected to be complete by the fall.
Voices for Independence purchased Vernondale Elementary School from Millcreek Township at the end of last summer, and after months of planning and architectural designs, the demolition has begun.
Several changes will be taking place inside the building to make it completely accessible to anyone with any kind of disability including widening the doorways to what will be office space and change the layout of the restrooms.
