Voting machines tested today for upcoming election

The voting machines are tested today for the November 7th election.  Election officials say they ran a mock election.

The test results are uploaded onto the PEB's, or Personal Electronic Ballots, that are at each of the 149 precincts in Erie County.  The totals on the PEB's should match exactly the calculated totals in the county's unity system--any difference would indicate an issue.

Erie County Clerk of Elections, Doug Smith, tells us, "It's important for, I think, our voters to know our counting system is doing what it's supposed to do."

Smith says Corry is losing one polling place this election.  Also in Erie, the former Holy Rosary polling precinct could be at Lincoln Elementary School.  The board is voting on that change tonight.
