The shopping game has changed forever. You never have to leave your car, and it now can be done with just the push of a button.
Walmart joins several stores, like Giant Eagle, with a new pickup service.
Ashley Sutton, Walmart department manager, says, "The way our culture's going, it's great for families that have busy lives. They go can drop their kids off at soccer practice, or baseball practice, come here, pick up the groceries they've already ordered and get back in time to pick up the kids after practice."
Go to https://grocery.walmart.com/anonymous-landing or the mobile app, pick the store you want to pick up at and begin creating your shopping list.
A Walmart personal shopper gathers all your items.
During check out, you select the pick up time.
Pull up and get your groceries without ever having to leave the car.
But the best part ...
Sutton says, "It is a completely free service that we're offering. So you don't have to pay any extra charges."
Shoppers say the new service will save them time no longer having to come in to the store to get their groceries.
Tony Samol says, "I think it's great. I think there's a lot of people that don't have the time, and you can save a lot of time by just pulling up. Sort of like Amazon."
Jaylynn Williams, says, "I would be interested in using it. That would benefit me a whole lot. (Why's that?) I have a disabled daughter. So it would help me a lot."
The only items that cannot be ordered for pickup is clothing because of specific sizes.
The new services is offered at three Erie-area stores.
West Ridge Road in Millcreek, Buffalo Road in Harborcreek and on Upper Peach Street.
