If you have ever wanted to sit down and have lunch with the mayor of the city of Erie, now is your time.
This morning, Mayor Joe Schember announced at his weekly news conference the beginning of monthly "Brown Bag Lunch Sessions". On the first Thursday of every month, Schember is welcoming Erie residents to have lunch with the mayor to provide input or ask questions.
He says it's a way to cultivate relationships with residents. "What I will probably do is share my ideas, what I am trying to get accomplished, get their feedback and reaction. Hopefully, we will just have a good pleasant conversation back and forth. I know everyone won't agree with me on anything and I don't expect that, but we can listen to each other opinions and my commitment will be to do what is best for Erie in the long term".
The first brown bag lunch is April 5th from 11:30am to 12:30pm. Each session will be compromised of 10-12 people in Room 500 of Erie City Hall. To register, call 814-870-1200.
