The former Pufferbelly Restaurant building is taking on a new shape as Erie Insurance begins work on the historic building.
Kidder Wachter Construction crews are working on the back of the former restaurant at 414 French St. and remodeling the interior. Erie Insurance plans to turn the building into an events center and more space for employees.
Erie Insurance representatives tell us, like many of its other historical renovations, the company plans to keep all of the original woodwork and some of the fixtures in the old Pufferbelly bar.
Work is expected to be done this summer.
