World War II Exhibit opens in Erie

A piece of history found a new home in Erie.
The Hagen History Center held a grand opening for a new World War II exhibit.
A facility in Pittsburgh donated some of the material.
A good portion of the exhibit came from the local families, highlighting their loved ones who were involved in World War II.
Soldiers' uniforms are on display, in addition to photographs and historical documents from Erie locals.
Organizers said it's important community members learn about Erie's contributions throughout history.
"We had thousands upon thousands of men and women from Erie who served in the military. We also had a home front which was transformed during that period," said George Deutsch, the Erie County Historical Society Director.
The display will be open to the public through November 28th.
