Dozens of local kids join together in a world record attempt today, the World's Largest Swim Lesson.
More than 500 pools and water parks in over 20 countries across the globe participated in the attempt, including our local Splash Lagoon. The water park welcomed kids from the John F. Kennedy Center for a fun and educational day in the water.
Director of Operations, Carrie Wakinekona, tells us, "obviously in the summer months, more children are near water and we want to make sure that we arm them with the tools that they need and the knowledge they need to stay safe... as well as parents and adults."
The event worked to spread the message that swimming lessons save lives and prevent accidental drownings.
