OCTOBER 24, 2013- You may want to purchase your airline tickets sooner than later, as air travel prices soar.
Some local travel officials say airline providers are increasing their prices because there is a high demand-and low supply of seats.
They say your best bet is to buy now...
According to the Wall Street Journal, ticket prices are up more than 9 percent for travelers.
David Poor of AAA says prices typically go up around the holidays.
He says that is caused by a high demand and airline providers decreasing the number of seats on planes.
Eric Dahlstrand, the Manager of Miller Travel Agency, says despite the higher prices-flying is a luxury and people are willing to shell out the cash.
He says convenience is key and some people will pay anything to be with their families on the holidays.
Poor says the good news for travelers is that gas prices will continue to decline-barring weather or conflicts in the Middle East.
