50 Vehicles in I-80 Pileup

Icy conditions are said to have caused the crash.
February 19, 2014
A section of Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania was closed Wednesday morning after icy conditions caused a 50-vehicle wreck, authorities said. Pennsylvania State Police and Penndot say cleanup will be time consuming.

The early morning pileup, which may have included as many as 40 tractor-trailers, happened near exit 120 in Clearfield, that's west of State College and north of Altoona. As many as  eight people have been transported to Clearfield Hospital, with minor to moderate injuries, WTAJ reported.

The westbound section of I-80 between exits 120 and 127 is closed as rescue crews respond to the scene.
