Ag Secretary In Erie Promotes Licensing Dogs

A dog license is the ticket home if your furry friend gets lost.
A dog license is the ticket home if your furry friend gets lost.

Agriculture secretary George Greg is in Erie today reminding dog owners to license their dog.

The secretary took a tour of the ANNA Shelter this morning.

An annual license costs $8.45, two dollars less if the animal is spayed or neutered.

Secretary George says licensing your dog means a better chance of getting fido back if he gets lost, " A lot of dogs stay inside, if they would get out of the house and get disoriented, they are not used to the wild and if someone picks them up thinking they are doing a good thing, bring them to a shelter, they're not licensed they may never find them".

Dog owners can face a 300 dollar fine for each unlicensed dog
