Art of Aging: Staying Active

There are Senior Centers and satellite meal centers all over our state, largely funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery.
There are Senior Centers and satellite meal centers all over our state, largely funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery. They are great places to meet new people and stay active!

Diane Brown, Health Promotion Consultant, “We think of it as the original social network, a place where you can go and have fun, meet other people."

Senior centers can also help with legal questions and connect older adults to other social services and they can be accessed through shared ride programs in every city.

Holly Lange, President, Philadelphia Corporation for Aging "Seniors are provided with the opportunity for socialization, computer classes, exercise classes, education, health promotion, and a hot lunch every day 5 days a week for the whole year.”

For information on your nearest senior center or for any questions relevant to older Pennsylvanians, call the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, (717) 783-1550.
