Baby Death Ruled a Homicide

Baby's death caused by blunt force trauma
The death of a 16 month old Chautauqua County girl is being investigated as a homicide by police in Jamestown, New York. The baby is identified as Nayla Hodnett.

As first reported by FOX 66 News at 10 Thursday evening, according to investigators the child was brought to WCA Hospital in Jamestown Wednesday evening by the mother.  She was eventually transferred to a Buffalo hospital, but died Thursday morning of injuries police describe tonight as blunt force trauma.  An autopsy was performed Thursday afternoon and the cause of death has been ruled as a homicide.

Investigators confirm that both the mother and the mother's boyfriend are consider "persons of interest" at this time, and that the mother has been very cooperative with police.
