Bicyclist Hospitalized After Being Hit By Truck

Police say the bicyclist had the right of way, but the driver told them he did not see the bicycle.

One man is hospitalized and a section of Grandview Boulevard was closed for hours after an accident.
It happened just after six o'clock tonight at the intersection of Grandview and Pittsburgh Avenue.

According to Millcreek Police, a delivery truck hit a bicyclist as the truck was turning southbound onto Pittsburgh Avenue.
Police say the bicyclist had the right of way, but the driver told them he did not see the bicycle.
They also tell us the victim, described as a 24-year-old man, is in the intensive care unit at UPMC Hamot.
Grandview Boulevard was closed for three hours while police investigated.

Witnesses to the accident are asked to call patrolman Heynes at the Millcreek Police at 833-7777.
