Booze and Bar Business May Be Down for Big Game

The countdown is on to the biggest sporting event of the year. And with the Seattle Seahawks squaring off with the Denver Broncos, locally, some businesses say there is a lack of interest in the big game.
JANUARY 31, 2014- The countdown is on to the biggest sporting event of the year.
And with the Seattle Seahawks squaring off with the Denver Broncos, locally, some businesses say there is a lack of interest in the big game.
At UPick 6 Tap House on State Street, Super Bowl Sunday will be just like any other day.
Manager Scott Husted says Tap House does not expect any significant increase in business.
And the day will not even compare to big drinking days like Saint Patrick's Day.
Kevin McCormick, the sales manager of Erie Beer Company, says bars are still stocking up on booze.
He says Erie Beer Company is seeing a ten percent increase in sales in comparison to a normal week in January.
But McCormick says it appears this year more people will be enjoying Sunday's festivities from the convenience of their own home.
