CLP Board of Trustees Chairman Tight Lipped on Latest Proposal

There was a closed door meeting today in Crawford County between park trustees, their attorney and county officials.
April 23, 2014 - The future of Conneaut Lake Park is still up in the air, but the Conneaut Lake Park Board of Trustees is weighing the latest proposal.

There was a closed door meeting today in Crawford County between park trustees, their attorney and county officials.

They remain tight lipped about their thoughts on the latest proposal from the Economic Progress Alliance.

The Board of Trustees tabled a vote on Monday night on the proposal from the Economic Progress Alliance.

Jack Moyer, board chairman, says they tabled the vote until they could meet with their attorneys today and county officials.

Moyer wouldn't say which county officials were at today's meeting, but he says there was representation from the county.

The proposal from the EPA would create a new board to oversee the amusement park.

EPA's proposal would reportedly pay off the $900,000 in back taxes on the park and also create a new board with four members from the EPA and three from the current trustees.

Moyer wouldn't go into detail about what was discussed today or when they will vote next on the proposal.

Calls to Mark Turner, the executive director of the EPA, were not returned.

There was no mention in the plan on how the group would come up with the money to pay the more than $900,000 in back taxes.

Conneaut Lake Park is set to be sold at the September tax sale.
