County Council Votes in 4 of 5 Positions at Dahlkemper's Request

Tuesday night County Council voted to add four of those positions, but lowered the salaries requested by Dahlkemper.

Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper has requested five administrative positions. Tuesday night County Council voted to add four of those positions, but lowered the salaries requested by Dahlkemper. A new Director of Administration position will serve as Dahlkemper’s chief of staff. Council dropped that salary to $70,000. The new Public Health Director was passed at just over 75,000 dollars. The salary for the County IT Director was dropped from the requested annual salary of around $95,000 to $85,000. The ordinance to hire a new Children and Youth Service Director was also passed at a salary of $71,000. The council said they think these salaries, although lower than requested, will draw in highly qualified candidates. The council did table the ordinance for the fifth position Dahlkemper requested. The County Executive hoped to add an administrative assistant for around $40,000, the council said they will wait to see if it is needed after the other positions are filled.
