District Attorney Comments On Fatal Shooting

23 year old Abram Sorek was shot in the head at a home in the 600 block of Kahkwa Boulevard around 3 am Saturday.

Sorek was pronounced dead at UPMC Hamot just before four a-m.

Erie Police Chief Randy Bowers said that there was a gathering of five longtime friends at the house where the shooting took place.

Sorek did not live at the Kahkwa Boulevard address.

He was a 2009 graduate of Mercyhuyrst Prep and was reportedly attending college at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe.

Police spent Saturday questioning the witnesses who were at the house..

No charges have been filed, but an investigation is underway

Today Erie County District Attorney Jack Daneri commented on the investigation saying ”All four gave statements to the police. I am reviewing statements, video tape statements, also reviewing police reports”.

Daneri also said that he is hoping to have the investigation wrapped up by the end of this week.
