Erie Federal Credit Union Robbed

Police search a nearby housing complex for suspect
For the second time in less than a month, the Erie Federal Credit Union along Buffalo Road was robbed.

A man waled into the credit union just after 5 Friday afternoon. Credit union employees said they saw a gun in his waist band. He got away with an undetermined amount of cash. Witnesses were able to provide police with a description of the getaway vehicle and that car was found a short time later in one of the parking lots at Harbor Homes.

Erie police SWAT team was called to the apartment complex and through the help of neighbors were able to determine that the driver of the car stayed at one of the apartments. With guns drawn, police were able to get the occupants to open the door. Two women in the apartment allowed police to conduct a search. Police came away with two bags of evidence but no suspect.

The car was taken to the police station for further processing.
