There were two home invasions within hours of one another with the first happening last night around 10:20. The most recent incident was reported around 1:15 in the morning at a home located at 715 East 4th Street.

According to police a man and a woman were in the house when an intruder pounded on the door then gained entry into the apartment. That's when police say the man inside the home jumped out of the second story window and escaped.

Shots were fired inside the apartment but no one was injured and police didn't recover any shell casings. They're still trying to identify the man who was in the home. The woman was allegedly pistol whipped.

Meanwhile around 10:45 last night police say a suspect was at 515 East 27th Street left and returned with two others wearing masks and carrying firearms.

Chief Randy Bowers says they robbed the victim and got away with jewelry and money.
