Fifteen Annual Ride for the Refuge

The charity bicycle ride benefits the Emergency Homeless Shelter for families with children.
September 2, 2014 - Some people spent their Labor Day holiday cycling for a cause, helping out homeless families who receive help from the Erie United Methodist Alliance.

People gathered at Shades Beach this morning for the fifteenth annual Ride for the Refuge. The charity bicycle ride benefits the Emergency Homeless Shelter for families with children.

Each rider paid a fee to participate and the proceeds will help the families who need shelter, basic necessities and guidance to get back on their feet. Riders of all different ages and skill levels were invited to participate on the scenic tour.

Following the bike ride, the dozens of bikers had a picnic.
