Fire Crews Battle Fire and Ice

Freezing temperatures hindered fire fighter's efforts
January 28, 2014- Fire crews battled a devastating fire in Erie last night, and mother nature made their efforts even more difficult.
Crews were called to the fire at 821 Raspberry Street around 10pm to fight that fire.

According to reports at the scene, when fire fighters arrived, flames and smoke were coming from the first floor of the home.
By the time the fire fighters had everything under control, the fire had moved through the house and into the attic.
Because of the weather and the weakening structure, crews had to fight the fire from outside.
They battled that blaze for over two hours and were on the scene for close to four.

It's believed the fire stared in the kitchen, but the search for the official cause is underway.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
