The First Day of Trout in Pennsylvania is just around the corner. Each year, the park naturalists at Presque Isle host a family fishing day on the First Day of Trout that’s free and open to the public.

On April 12th, you can meet at the floating platform at East Waterworks pond at the rotary pavilion. Volunteers from the park and the Sons of Lake Erie will walk you through everything you need to know. You can stay the entire time from 8-2 or just swing by and cast a line in the water for a little while.

No fishing license is required and you do not need to register for the event. For more information you can contact the Tom Ridge Environmental Center.
