Four Candidates Vying for 50th District PA Senate Seat

Republicans Michele Brooks, Greg Lucas and Jane MacPherson are on the ticket, while democrat Michael Muha is running unopposed.
May 13, 2014 - Three republicans and one democrat will appear on the primary ballot for the 50th District Senate seat.

The longtime State Senator Bob Robbins is retiring, leaving the 50th District Senate seat vacant.

Two current house representatives, a lawyer and a businesswoman are running.

Republicans Michele Brooks, Greg Lucas and Jane MacPherson are on the ticket, while democrat Michael Muha is running unopposed.

Representative Michele Brooks is currently serving the 17th district in the PA House of Representatives.

She says she brings experience that can keep the 50th District at the forefront in Harrisburg.

Representative Greg Lucas represents the 5th District in the PA House of Representatives.

Lucas wants to focus on education funding and bringing jobs to the district.

Businesswoman Jane MacPherson says she can bring a fresh perspective to Harrisburg.

And attorney Michael Muha says the district needs better representation of the area.

A debate featuring all the candidates will air on FOX66 on Sunday, May 18th from 5-6pm.
