"When it started raining they decided to take a short cut up the cliff embankment to get their way out. Two children ended up making it all the way up the cliff embankment and one adult made it up, three children got stuck on a ledge and one adult went down to help them and he got stuck also. " Kevin Tobin, Brookside Fire Department Chief, said.

The victims suffered minor injuries such as scrapes and cuts, there was concern of hypothermia but all were treated and released at the scene. Crews from Brookside, Kuhl Hose, Belle Valley, Fairview, Perry Hi-Way and members of the Erie County Technical Rescue Team were all on the scene to aid.
