The Electrical and Computer Engineering department at Gannon University is hosting ECE Day on Tuesday, April 29, 2014.

ECE Day welcomes high school students to participate with project activities in electronic circuits, wireless communication, electric motor speed control and embedded system design.

During ECE Day, the students will engage in hands-on laboratory activities to understand the engineering principles and design practices.

Currently, about 50 students from local Erie high schools are expected to participate.

The University collaborated with the Erie County Technical School to bring high school students to campus that are enrolled in various special classes provided by IU5 and other schools.

In these classes, students focus on engineering subjects such as drafting, electronics and computers.

“The ECE department at Gannon strives to exploit the synergy between K-12 STEM schools and its ABET-accredited undergraduate ECE degree program through ECE laboratory-based STEM outreach activities,” said Professor Ramakrishnan Sundaram, Ph.D., Electrical and Computer
