Governor Awards Erie More Than $400,000 in Grants

That money will help the city grow and make improvements throughout downtown.

The city of Erie is on the receiving end of more than $420,000 from the state.

Governor Tom Corbett announced today Erie was awarded $425,000 in Keystone Communities Grants.

That money will help the city grow and make improvements throughout downtown.

$50,000 of the grant money will go towards facade improvements, $25,000 is a planning grant and $350,000 is an operational and residential reinvestment grant.

The Erie Downtown Partnership will use the $50,000 for a match facade program and the $25,000 to update their master plan.

The Keystone Communities Program started in 2011 to help cities revitilize their communities.
