Harrisburg – Governor Tom Corbett today led Pennsylvania’s first-of-its-kind hauler parade through Harrisburg, a unique procession of NASCAR racecar haulers on their way to the Pocono 400. He was joined by Pocono Raceway President and CEO Brandon Igdalsky, co-chairman of the House Motorsports Caucus and State Representative John Payne (R-Dauphin) and Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse.

“The Pocono Raceway is one of Pennsylvania’s great sports destinations that contributes more than $250 million to the state’s economy,” said Corbett. “We’re thrilled to welcome this first-of-its-kind NASCAR hauler parade to the streets of Harrisburg to provide fans with an opportunity to see their favorite team haulers and to get people excited for the Pocono 400.”

The hauler parade featured numerous trucks from various NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams. In addition to transporting the racecars, a racing hauler is designed to be a NASCAR driver’s ‘home away from home,’ serving multiple purposes on the road.

This event marks the first time an official hauler parade came through Pennsylvania and offered NASCAR fans the opportunity to see team haulers up close, at no charge. Fans were able to take pictures at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center before the hauler parade drove around the Capitol Complex in downtown Harrisburg, pausing in front of the State Capitol building.

“Pennsylvania loves NASCAR and it was exciting to see fans cheering on the haulers as they passed through downtown Harrisburg today,” said Brandon Igdalsky, Pocono Raceway President and CEO. “This is a great kickoff to what we think will be an amazing weekend at the Pocono Raceway. Special thanks to the city of Harrisburg for hosting today’s event.”

"As co-chairman of House Motorsports Caucus, I recognize the Pocono Raceway is both a huge economic engine for Pennsylvania and a great place to see the race,” said State Representative John Payne (R-Dauphin).
