Grand Finale of Perry 200 Celebration Sunday

The Olympic torch used at the games in Atlanta will make its way from Liberty Park to Perry Monument on the peninsula. The torch will be used to light the monument, which hasn't been lit in 60 years.
It's been two years in the making and this summer was jam-packed with festivities to mark the 200 year anniversary of the Battle of Lake Erie. Sunday marks the grand finale of the Perry 200 Celebration, as the Olympic torch used at the games in Atlanta will make its way from Liberty Park to Perry Monument on the peninsula. The torch will be used to light the monument, which hasn't been lit in 60 years.

WQLN President, Tom New said, "Right when the Perry Monument is lit, there's going to be a fireworks display. We have period cannons firing at will and also the philharmonic will join in with their rendition of Stars and Stripes Forever."
