March 1, 2014

High school students had their chance to shine today as they competed in multiple events for a spot in a national tournament.

Students from more than a dozen local high schools have been competing all year in Catholic Forensic League Tournaments. All of those competitions have brought them to the final qualifying round at Gannon University to earn a spot at nationals. Categories include debate teams, dramatic performance, oral interpretation, student congress and more.

They're learning some important life skills along the way when it comes to public speaking.

Three students in each event qualified to compete at nationals in Chicago over Memorial Day weekend.
