High Wind Speeds Cause Damages, Power Outages

Around 3,000 homes lost electricity.
Heavy winds are hitting the area today. The highest gust was reported at 11:15 a.m.

Some power lines have been blowing non-stop and other power lines have been blown down.

There are some fallen trees on West 9th Street, leading to road closures.

On East 6th Street, a tree branch fell onto a car shattering the windshield and leaving the Erie Streets Department with a lot to clean up.

The downed trees have led to power outages with around 3,000 customers losing power.

Penelec officials tell us they are working on fixing the outages.
