Detectives are making progress in trying to solve the latest homicide in the city. It's the seventh one so far in 2014.
Erie Police Chief Randy Bowers says they are moving forward with the investigation into the homicide death of a 39 year old Erie man who died of blunt force trauma to the head. His body was found on the sidewalk Wednesday morning at Delaware and Ottawa Avenues.

Chief Bowers says the man who has yet to be identified didn't live in the area however he is familiar with the neighborhood.

The chief says detectives are trying to determine who he was with during the last hours he was alive. They're working to interview his friends or anyone he was with before the incident.

Chief Bowers says they're still trying to determine where the incident happened.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Jon Peters at 870-1159.
