Lake Conditions Monitor Buoy Being Deployed

A small boat is currently in Lake Erie off Walnut Creek seeking the correct spot to place the lake condition monitoring bouy.
May 6, 2014-
A monitoring buoy is presently enroute to a location in Lake Erie approximately 4 miles off Walnut Creek.

This joint venture between the Regional Science Consortium, PA DEP, PA Sea Grant, and PA DCNR will provide data for the E. coli predictive model used on the swimming beaches of Presque Isle. This buoy will report real-time data on water temperature, water conductivity, pH, turbidity, and dissolved oxygen.

Once in place the data transmitted from the buoy will be available on the internet.
