Lundeen Resigns in Wake of Theft Charges

Lundeen's resignation comes one day after theft charges were filed against him.
July 9, 2014 - Just one day after theft charges were filed against him, the newly appointed Erie County Office of Children and Youth director resigns.

The investigation into Kevin Lundeen has been ongoing for some time now. Today, the County Executive's office made it official, revealing Lundeen has resigned. Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper has announced Kevin Lundeen has resigned from his position this morning. His resignation is effective immediately.

The resignation comes on the heels, after he was arraigned yesterday in Warren County on charges of forgery and theft. Those charges are from when he was director of OCY of Warren and Forest counties.

Dahlkemper's office says the county executive and her administration were not aware that charges were being brought against Mr. Lundeen until last week and were not aware of the full extent of the charges until mid-afternoon on Tuesday.

The county executive has accepted Mr. Lundeen's resignation and will be naming an interim director of OCY shortly.
